The Fork (FIlm script)

A horror-comedy film Connor and I are making, soon.

SCENE 1: Jake's Grandparent's House (loft)


(A boy, Jake, is sitting on the computer, when the phone rings.)

(Jake looks at the phone, then picks it up and answers it.)

Jake: Hello?

Connor(Enthusiastic): Hey, man!

Jake: Oh, hi, Connor.

Connor: Hey get this. I found this sweet pad down by the swamps. We should go check it out!

Jake: Okay, when?

Connor: How 'bout tomorrow, 6:30 PM?

Jake: Okay.

Connor: Cool! Be there, man! See ya.

Jake: See ya.

(Jake hangs up the phone and puts it down.)

Jake: (Sighs) Well, I should be going to bed.

(Jake turns off the computer and TV, then goes to brush his teeth as beginning credits roll.)

SCENE 2: Jake's Grandparent's House (bedroom)



(Camera shows a close-up shot of Jake's head hitting the pillow as the credits end.)

(The camera slowly zooms in on Jake's face before fading to the next scene.)

SCENE 3: Jake's Grandparent's House (bedroom)

(Camera shows a clock with "6:30" on it.)

SCENE 4: Jake Grandparent's House (lower floor)



(Jake walks over to the door and opens it.)

Jake: Grandma, Grandpa, I'm gonna be gone for awhile!

Grandpa: (Offscreen) Okay!

Grandma: (Offscreen) Be careful!

Jake: I will.

(Jake leaves, closing the door behind him.)

SCENE 5: The Swamps Entrance



(Jake arrives at the swamps, Connor is there waiting for him.)

Connor: (Hyper) You're late, man!

(Jake checks his watch.)

Jake: No, I'm right on time.

Connor: Really?!

Jake: (Sighs) Connor, how long have you been here?

Connor: Uh...

(Jake looks down at a sleeping bag, a pillow, and a bag of potato chips lying on the ground.)

Jake: Connor, did you sleep here?

Connor: HECK YES!

(Jake sighs and shakes his head.)

Jake: Okay, where's the place?

Connor: What place?

Jake: That uh, hangout?

Connor: What hangout??

Jake: (Irraitable) The "sweet pad" you told me about, yesterday!

Connor: Oh, well why didn't you say so?? C'mon!

(Connor shows Jake the left and right paths.)

Connor: So, which path do you wanna take?

(Jake looks back and forth at both paths.)

Jake: Uh, I guess the ri-

Connor: How 'bout the left?!

Jake: Okay...

(Jake takes the left path, and Connor takes the right.)

SCENE 6: The Left Forest Path



(Camera slowly zooms in on Jake from behind him.)

(Jake quickly turns around, then sits there for a moment, before turning around and continuing walking.)

(Camera zooms in on Jake from behind again, much faster than before.)

SCENE 7: The Right Forest Path



(Connor is walking but suddenly stops and goes wide-eyed at hearing Jake scream. He turns around and begins running toward where Jake is.)

SCENE 8: The Left Forest Path



(Connor comes running in to the scene to find a frantic, shaking Jake.)

Connor: Hey man, what happened?

Jake: (Shakey) S-s-SNAKE! SNAKE!

(Jake points to a completely harmless snake slithering by.)

(Connor's expression goes from scared and concerned to being in complete disbelief.)

Jake: What? It was a snake!

Connor: I'm goin' back to the other path, man.

(Connor begins walking toward the right path.)

Jake: Okay. Sorry, man.

Connor: (Sighs) It's cool.

Jake! Save it to a Microsoft Word Document!

SCENE 9: The Right Forest Path

(Connor is walking when he hears a rustle in the bushes. He slowly walks toward the bush, a confused look on his face.)

(Connor is slowly looking down at the bush, when he is interrupted and startled by Jake screaming again.)

Connor: (Sighs and shakes his head) Some people...

SCENE 10: The Left Forest Path



(Camera shows a semi-close-up of Jake with is back against a tree, breathing heavily.)

(Jake narrowly dodges a knife to his head and the knife gets stuck in the tree behind him. Jake then rolls to his feet and runs, teriffied, as the killer tries to get his knife un-stuck from the tree.)

SCENE 11: The Right Forest Path



(A frantic Jake runs into the scene.)

Jake: Connor! Connor!

Connor: (Irritable) If this is about a little snake again...

Jake: (Shaking Connor) Listen to me! Listen! There's a guy with a knife in the forest over there! (Jake points to the forest.)

Connor: Tch. (Connor nonchalantly pushes Jake away.) I'll believe it when I see it.

(Suddenly the killer slowly walks out of the forest, knife in hand, Jake screams, shaking uncontrollably.)

Connor: I believe you.

(Connor and Jake begin running, the killer close behind them.)

SCENE 12: The Streets by Jake's Grandparent's House



(Connor and Jake are running from the killer, terrified.)

(Suddenly, the killer trips and falls on his face.)

(Connor and Jake turn around and sit there for a moment, wide-eyed and surprised, staring down at the killer.)

Jake: Uh...

Connor: C'mon!

(Connor and Jake begin running again, the killer slightly further behind them than before.)

SCENE 13: Jake's Grandparent's Driveway



(Jake and Connor are still running from the killer, almost to Jake's grandparent's house.)

(Suddenly, Jake sees his little sister Riley in the window. Jake and Connor stop, the killer coming down the street toward them.)

Jake(frantic): Riley! Open the door!

Riley(confused): Huh?

Jake(irritated): Riley, Riley open the garage door!!

Riley: Oh, okay!

Jake: Quick! Quick!!

(Jake and Connor turn around to see the killer coming closer and closer to them.)

Connor: Riley! Fast!

(The killer is a few feet from the driveway, when the garage door slowly starts opening.)

(Jake and Connor begin running into the garage, the killer only feet from them.)

SCENE 14: Jake's Grandparent's Garage



(Jake and Connor narrowly escape the killer and get into the garage.)

(Jake runs toward the buttons that open and close the garage doors and presses one.)

(The other garage door opens.)

Connor: Wrong one!!

Jake: Crap!

(Jake presses the button to close the other garage door. Then presses the button to close the garage door that they first came in through.)

(Connor shrieks and falls over as the killer's hand just barely gets stuck underneath the closing garage door and grabs Connor's foot.)

(Connor struggles to get free as Jake runs inside the house and into the kitchen.)

SCENE 15: Jake Grandparent's House Kitchen



(Jake runs into the scene, frantically looking around.)

Jake(frantic): Where is it, WHERE IS IT??

(Jake opens a small door, revealing a row of knives.)

Jake: (Sighs in relief) Whew, good.

(Jake grabs a knife and runs back into the garage.)

SCENE 16: Jake's Grandparent's House Garage



(Jake runs back into the grage to see Connor punching the killer's hand and yelling.)

(Jake yells and stabs the hand.)

(The killer screams and tries to slink his hand back out from under the garage door, but can't, because the knife stuck in his hand prevents him from doing so.)

(Jake grabs a broom and is about to smash the hand with it, but the killer's hand finally slinks out of the garage just before he can hit it.)

(Connor and Jake slowly look at each other, breathing hard and scared.)

Jake: Dang...

(Jake and Connor slowly turn around and walk back in to the house.)

SCENE 17: Jake's Grandparent's House Lower Floor



(Jake and Connor enter the house, Jake walks over to the window and looks out.)

(Jake pulls the blinds down.)

Jake: Come on. (Jake waves for Connor to come with, walking up the stairs.)

(Connor nods and follows.)

SCENE 18: Jake's Grandparent's House Loft



(Connor and Jake walk into the loft.)

(Jake opens a drawer, the camera shows a close-up of an airsoft Uzi.)

(Jake hands Connor the Uzi.)

Jake: Here, use this.

(Connor looks down at the Uzi.)

Connor: Okay.

(Jake walks over to a box, opens it, and pulls out his airsoft Beretta.)

(Jake hands Connor the Beretta.)

Jake: And this.

(Connor looks at the Beretta.)

Connor: 'kay...

Jake: I'll be right back. Don't go anywhere.

(Connor nods as Jake walks to the bathroom, then closes the door.)

SCENE 19: Jake's Grandparent's House Yard



(Camera slowly zooms in on Jake's Grandparent's house, then the killer is seen slowly walking over to the window and trying to look in.)

SCENE 20: Jake's Grandparent's House Loft



(Connor is seen looking at the Uzi and Beretta, turning them over in his hands.)

Connor: (Quietly) What's taking him so long...

(Suddenly, the bathroom door opens as a gun is heard cocking back. Connor looks over.)

(The camera slowly pans from Jake's feet to head. Jake is wearing Army clothes, an M1 Helnmet, and has an airsoft M16 in his hand.)

(Connor's jaw drops.)

Connor: Well...uh...

Jake: (Serious) Let's take this mask wearin' son of a frickin' cow down.

(Connor smiles and nods.)
